Absolute minimum gear needed?

In order to go as light as possible on a September archery elk hunt, for an overnight or two nights hunt, what would you carry??


6x8 tarp, sleeping bag, sleep pad, water purification system, food that does not require cooking, game bags


Could you do it with this list? What food would be good to carry?

Yes, and dont forget paracord and If your going stoveless try the green belly meals or big sur bars for your main course they both have over 500 cal, then I usually eat like a pro bar, nut butters, honey stingers ect. between meals.

Personally, I don?t like sleeping on bare ground. Did that enough in the Corps. I carry a 2 man North Face tent. Klymit pad, Katadyn water filter, kill kit, first aid kit, Jetboil and food.
