Books

I would also like to know.  thinking about getting backcountry bowhunting.  I just bought Steven Rinella's Meat Eater for my dad because he and many of his friends are nonhunters.  Not an elk hunting book but supposed to be great for nonhunters, figured it would be an eye opener. I look forward to reading it myself

Paul (Elknut) put me onto "Tree Stand Hunting Rocky Mountain Elk" by John Erickson.  Has been a good read so far.  Wasn't much money and I'm always open to trying to learn more about elk.

Elk Country and Elk Ecology and Management aren't specific to hunting, but have lots of great info.

Backcountry elk hunting by Cameron Hanes, Meat Eater, Extreme Elk Magazine.  All good stuff.  Cameron Hanes book is definitely the most informational with regards to beckcountry bow hunting (a lot about elk) but I learned from all of them.

Cameron Hanes book is pretty good! I am almost finished with it and would recommend it to anyone heading west for there first time.
