Missouri turkey opener

Congrats. I should try turkey hunting in the Spring some year. We have an abundance of turkeys in North Idaho. You are allowed up to 6 either sex in the fall. I usually get the 4 cheap tags. If you want the 5th and 6th tag they cost $12 and $20 if I remember correctly. I fill my tags in my parents yard every year. It's not much of a hunt. It's more of a way to fill tags and get turkeys to quit pooping all over everything. They have had between 50 to 70 turkeys in their yard the last several years. They taste great and are good for controlling bugs but 70 turkeys can make a heck of a mess quickly.

When and where should I show up with my bow?

Unfortunately I don’t have any good places for you to go. I used to know a guy that was friends with my grandfather. He had hundreds of acres and hundreds of turkeys. I was building something on his house in the winter and there were literally 300 plus turkeys in his driveway and barn. He no longer had animals in his barn for them to steal food from. They would just roost in there. I asked him if I could hunt turkeys there and he said only if I brought friends and we killed them all. I had plans to hunt there a couple months later when it opened in the spring but he passed away that winter and his family sold the farm. The turkeys are still there though. I see hundreds of them whenever I drive by. The new owners complain to the fish and game about the turkeys but they won’t let anyone hunt their property.
