I appreciate the ideas guys! I've at least got my wife on board with me applying for tags and figuring out the rest after the fact...so at least I'll be going (barring nothing gets screwed up with the draw)!
Well, my suspicions came to light yesterday. The partner I was planning to go elk hunting with this year backed out on me. He has his reasons, and I don't blame him or hold any grudges against him whatsoever. Now what? I am all for going solo, but my wife is pretty adamant I don't. I'm not...
I completely agree and acknowledge that I am an over thinker! I analyze and over analyze loads of data thinking I'm going to figure out some statistic or see something eventually that someone else isn't going to see. Trust me, I know I'm ridiculous, but I actually kind of enjoy reviewing all of...
I'm struggling with this decision. I'll probably apply in NM and WY hoping the random odds are in my favor for either. But the biggest struggle for me is if I plan to try for MT or stick with the same area in CO, but for archery. Even though I shot a bull this year for rifle, I still get mixed...
I haven't used many, but I currently have a couple cell cams from Wildgame Innovations, and I'm pretty frustrated with them. I bought them refurbished off camofire, so they obviously aren't in tip-top share, but they seem to have a new issue pop up every year. I plan to try spypoint next. As far...

Update***
I was able to try out this knife on both an elk and a mule deer. The tendon cutting tool worked out so slick on the hide and tendons! On the mule deer, I never even used the actual knife blade.
Well, I was extremely blessed during my first ever elk hunt this year. 1st Rifle season in CO, we were hoping to just see elk and possibly here a bugle, but it turned out to be soooo much more than that! We found elk day 1, patterned them, and I stuck with them enough to finally punch my tag on...
I've been a bit pre-occupied...Busy in CO for my first ever elk hunt (1st Rifle), and then I just got back this last weekend from a mule deer hunt in MT. Both were amazing, and both ended with meat in the freezer! In CO, we found elk the day we arrived and were into them nearly every day. They...
That's awesome to hear stories about good people willing to help out in big ways. Even though your hunt resulted in losing some meat and included worries of whether you'd find your elk, it sounds like you still had a great experience! I'm sure I'm not saying anything you guys don't already know...
