    Which mechanical for elk?

    I\'ll throw out this disclaimer...I shoot 125gr Magnus 4 blade buzzcuts and have zero issues out to 60-70 yards and I have no plans to switch heads. If fixed blades were banned due to too many people not being able to tune them and too many bad shots, which mechanical head would you use on elk?

    Arrow pass throughs

    How far from the poi have you found an arrow after a pass through on an elk? I looked for a good 30 minutes but never found the arrow. I wasn\'t sure how far to look. I didn\'t know if it went 3 feet or 100. The grass/weeds were tall and it was a needle in a haystack type thing.

    Remove those batteries!

    Seems like every year I lose a piece of electronics to alkaline batteries. I\'ve moved to almost exclusively rechargeable batteries, but still found a headlamp with a couple AAA alkalones. Luckily hey weren\'t leaking...YET! I try to take all batteries out of electronics during the offseason.

    Snow!!!!

    Anybody getting concerned about the deer and elk herds yet? \'Y understanding is that the hard crust is what gets them...mostly deer. Doesn\'t sound like we\'ve had any of that yet, but I was up at keystone today and there were a ton of elk around Dillon.
