How bad are the wild fires in SW Montana?  Are they affecting the hunting?

So we hunted Montana the last 3 years and have bought leftover tags each year. Well this is the first year they have ever sold out of out of state tags. Need a back up plan quickly. Idaho or Colorado or anything else?

Has anyone ever parked in one state and walked into another state because it was a closer walk to where you hunted in the other state?  Do you need a hunting license in both states?

If you had to pick a week in SW Montana which would you pick for this year?  The week of Sept. 12th-19th or the 19th-26th?  The first week is out for me this year.

Hi everyone.  I recieved my general elk tag for montana in the mail last week.  Has anyone hunted 324 or 327.  Are there good numbers of elk in these areas?  Which unit is better?
