New (sort of) from PA

Hey, sorry I missed this forum before posting a bunch of replies and topics. Heading to CO for my first (last?) elk hunt. I\'ll be 66 years old, relearning how to shoot a bow. Been deer hunting 35 years back east. If I say something stupid, let me know! :upthumb:

Mechanical broadheads

Was wondering your opinions on them. I started using Spitfire\'s last year and took a button buck with one using my crossbow, but this year I\'m back to a compound. They fly exactly like the field points.

How bad is the infestation in CO? We will be back packing for extended periods next bow season.

Bow range?

I was wondering at what distance(s) you have shot at elk with your bow. I hear stories of 60 -70 yd shots being normal, which is unheard of back here in the eastern deer woods.
