Sams club has the klymit v static for 19.91! Weights a pound and is about the same of your hand. Seems like a great pad. I picked up 2 of them. If you don\'t have a membership you can print out a 1 day pass and pay an extra 10%. So 21 bucks without a membership! Thornton, Stapleton...
Any changes from previous years? I switched heads this year from 4 blade Magnus buzzcuts to German kinetic XL. I imagine they will kill them the same but they are a little wider and fly great! Not sure my speed but it\'s adequate.

After 2 days of scouting I\'m not sure I have any blood left in my body! I sure wish I hadn\'t decided to save 4 ounces by leaving the deet in the car. Stupid!
Nothing makes me more angry!!!! Lost one in the back field. Looked for 2 hours. Even took the mower down and mowed the grass down to the dirt. It must have deflected. The search will continue tomorrow. On a side note, I found an arrow and a shotgun shell. All in the middle of a...
The spot I hunted last year was perfect for a tree stand. The elk came out in the mornings and even on the edge of dark timber in a little meadow. The only problem is it\'s 3.5 miles from the truck. I was looking st the summit viper SD weighing 20 pounds. Is this feasible to think I can pack...
I\'ll throw out this disclaimer...I shoot 125gr Magnus 4 blade buzzcuts and have zero issues out to 60-70 yards and I have no plans to switch heads.
If fixed blades were banned due to too many people not being able to tune them and too many bad shots, which mechanical head would you use on elk?
I have shot at 4 animals with a bow...much less than most guys here, but on 3 of those I estimated, no rangefinder, and all 3 I over estimated how far away the animal was. One led to a bad hit high, never recovered (estimated 25 yards, animal 16). The second was a miss high (estimated 40...
Everytime I get my boots broken in just perfect....that point where they feel like a nice pair of tennis shoes....they leak! Son of a gun! My lowas leak in both boots. I guess it\'s time to start hunting for a new pair of boots.
How far from the poi have you found an arrow after a pass through on an elk? I looked for a good 30 minutes but never found the arrow. I wasn\'t sure how far to look. I didn\'t know if it went 3 feet or 100. The grass/weeds were tall and it was a needle in a haystack type thing.
Seems like every year I lose a piece of electronics to alkaline batteries. I\'ve moved to almost exclusively rechargeable batteries, but still found a headlamp with a couple AAA alkalones. Luckily hey weren\'t leaking...YET! I try to take all batteries out of electronics during the offseason.
Two questions...
1. Is it 3 years of points then you have a shot on the 4th year? I haven 2 points going into this year. Am I drawing dead again?
2. What\'s the cost of the point now? I know they hit your credit card for the full amount. How much do they refund? I guess what\'s the...
Anybody getting concerned about the deer and elk herds yet? \'Y understanding is that the hard crust is what gets them...mostly deer. Doesn\'t sound like we\'ve had any of that yet, but I was up at keystone today and there were a ton of elk around Dillon.
Going to chase some roosters Saturday and have been thinking about mounting one for a long time. Anybody have any recommendations in the greater Denver area (prefer Denver to ft Collins) for a GOOD taxidermist?
Looks like there\'s going to be a general lack of snow over the next couple weeks, including 4th season. Last year we had a great snowstorm that started the day the 4th season opened and the area I was hunting was loaded with elk. My question is...do elk start to move to lower elevations as we...
I know we all buy new gear every year and sometimes we hit a home run and sometimes it\'s a dud! Would love to hear some reviews about your new gear. I\'ll start...

How did everyone do? I ended up getting a leftover/turn back tag in the same unit a coworker has a muzzle loader tag. I\'ve scouted a ton in an OTC unit this year and still have cameras up...guess it will need to wait a year.
I\'m sure most of you have seen this but just in case you don\'t hit any other forums I figured I would post this. Possibly the best hunting video I\'ve ever seen.

My first thought was deer but I have never seen this many deer rubs in one spot. A saddle was loaded with them. The hat is around 5 1/2 - 6 feet for reference.
Sorry for the crappy picture of a computer screen but this spike has all kinds of issues going on. He looks like he\'s got a dog bone sticking out of his head on this side and the other side is all sorts of deformed. First trail camera experience...lots of fun. Got some moose, deer and elk.
