How many wheel bow shooters are still shooting feather fletching?
Feathers are a lot lighter on the back end and are suppose to stabilize better. Seems to be good and bad for both feathers and vanes.
For backpacking I am wanting to use some powdered milk for breakfast cereal and I am trying to find some that tastes good. Anyone have a favorite brand that tastes like regular milk?
I just ordered some Sportsman Edge elk gel, has anyone used this product. Also looked at Moccasin Joes elk gel and it looked pretty good.
Not using these as cover scent, just as a possible attractant. Anyone using these and how you use it ?
I have a 28 hour drive to my hunting camp (Colorado) and need a tire that is fairly road quiet but is aggressive enough for the off roads.
You lucky ones that live in the western mountains, what are good tires to run for highway and off road? I am running 275/65/18 right now.
I have also...
Any idea why Colorado will not allow non-residents to participate in the ranching for wildlife hunts.
Are the property owners refusing to allow non-residents or the state?
I was messing with my gear today and I laid my down bag on the floor to put it in the stuff bag. My dog started smelling the bag with great interest. I now wonder if a goose down bag would attract a bear or other critters that a synthetic bag wouldn't. If I bivy hunt and leave camp all day, it...
I have recently started shooting with both eyes open and found that my accuracy is getting better and I feel much more relaxed during the shot. Who shoots with both eyes open?
The lucky guys that get to hunt through the different elk seasons, when have you seen the peak bugling and rutting activity?
Everyone says it's in September, but I have not seen much or heard much activity/bugling during the archery and ML season. It has been real hot the last few years, so...
Shot a 28 target NFAA course today and the release, arrow flight and groups are looking and feeling pretty good. Look out elk I am coming soon!
Anyone else getting feeling they are ready?
After some elk photos were posted I was wondering at what elevation they were seen, which they were still in velvet. Most everything I read and hear is that elk are high early in the season to beat the heat and bugs. Rain fall and food sources can and will change what is normal. For those of...
A recent post by Steve-WV got me thinking about scouting an area by Google Maps. I do not have much knowledge about how to scout on the maps. Once I have put boots on the ground, I can come back to the maps and make good use from them.
If you where given a Google version map to look at, could...
I really hate having my arrows on my bow, but it is the best way to carry them.
Anyone carry a quiver of some sort that is not attched to their bow? What kind and how do you carry it?
I will be carrying a day pack or perhaps a large pack for a bivy trip.
Not certain this is everywhere but at the local Gander Mountain they have camo clothing on the clearance rack at big discounts. Picked up 2 pair of Rocky SIQ pants for $66.00 that are normally $80.00 each. Lots of other stuff also.
