This can apply a number of different ways in my opinion. What do other hunters do? Many, in my experience, are either lazy or afraid of getting lost and hunt within 1/4 to 1/2 mile from a road, or they want to "go deep" and head five miles into the wilderness. I don't personally use the Sawtooth, but a guy in our group does and he really likes it. It's a great pack for sure. Tough to go wrong with Mystery Ranch in my opinion.- cohunter14

Is there such a thing as TOO GOOD of elk habitat?
There are spots in every unit that look like they should hold elk, yet sometimes they just never use those spots. The fact there is sign in the area helps, but if it's not fresh, it doesn't matter during your hunt. I'm of the opinion that you cover ground until you find elk. That can be covering...- cohunter14

If it were me, I would spend those scouting dates glassing from my top spots, both early and late in the day when the elk will be most active. A September to remember and how I am planning it.
Man, I'm too OCD to not have a list! I find that lists help me make sure I don't forget anything. The best part is I adjust the list each year to add items that I need or remove items I don't use. Seems to work well!- cohunter14
