You are archery hunting and making your way through the woods, throwing out the occasional call, when you hear what sounds like a bedded bugle 100 yards away. You give it some time, and about a minute later you hear the same call, which sounds like it's coming from a nearby meadow. You ease your...
Bumping this back up. Was just up in the high country camping with the wall tents and still having issues with the pole bags. There has to be a better way than to keep buying these bags. Thinking of concocting some sort of nylon strap setup like Terry had mentioned. Anyone else come up with...
Congratulations to twilliams212 for winning the giveaway! Keep an eye out as we'll be doing more soon. Like ribo said, hopefully we can get some traffic going once again!
Totally understand what you're saying. The toughest part is having never been there. If you go that deep, there could be great feed and less pressure, but the elk still might not be there. Just be sure you have a backup plan that, hopefully, doesn't require hiking all the way back out if you...
A few things to consider before going that far in:
1) If you shoot an elk back there, can you reasonably get it out before it spoils?
2) Do you really want to fully commit to a spot 7 miles in? That's a lot of work, only to get back there and potentially find out there aren't any elk.

I would be careful posting too much information on specific spots on here, just FYI. Anyone can google search units, roads, etc and find posts. Might want to consider sending direct messages to each other instead.
Super jealous of that September. Some solid tags for sure! Make sure to save some money for the taxidermy bill, and don't forget to tip them well enough to put a solid wall mount on there...you don't want a trophy falling off the wall again!
To answer your question, yes, it could hold elk that time of the year. But depending on conditions, the elk could also be higher or lower. It's best to have spots across different elevations so if you aren't finding them at one elevation, you can try another.
There isn't a ton of information out there, but if you search the internet, you'll find some articles. This is the CPW page that updates where wolves have been: https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Pages/Wolves-Activity-Map.aspx
There is also a facebook page that has some decent information here...
