Oldest I’ve ever taken was 9 1/2, he’s also my biggest. Pre cell phone so no pictures.
I didn’t see your original post, so congratulations on a great deer!
Was informed yesterday that my guys will be at the house by 10 on Monday. Plan was noon, leave by 1330! Guess I got a couple anxious guys.
One even said he hoped we got 3 bulls down the first day. I told him that’s my worst nightmare!
Anyone using the Sawtooth 45 for an elk hunting day pack.
Not that I need another pack, but been looking at it. Just wondered how it carries a load and how accessible stuff is.
TIA
Home state of Illinois, over the border in Indiana and definitely Colorado. Looking at 14 days in Colorado, probably 10 days in Indiana and 60+ in Illinois. Being semi retired is great.
Percentage on deer, 100%. On elk, 50/50.
Got a list out last night and I’m looking pretty good. Share batteries is about it. Going to check my water filter over and make sure it’s still good.
Next step is getting stuff loaded. Fly out next Tuesday and back the 22nd, then back out on the 24th until the 27th. We leave on the 30th for...
Spend time morning and evening glassing. Depending on where you’re at, bugling may not help much.
Last year, the unit I was hunting, the bulls were still going at it 1st rifle.
That would kick my OCD in high gear! For some reason I don’t feel I need to make a list, it’s in my head. A checklist would probably help.
Leave for France on the 13th, back on the 28th. Leave for Colorado the 30th. OMG, time is running out!!!!
Leave for Colorado in 26 days, hunting in 29.
Also getting antsy, been through the gear twice already, probably one more time. Taking 2 young guys with me this year, their first time. They just want to see elk, hopefully they get a close up view.
