I bought a brand new leather belt from a Goodwill Store. Somebody donated a new belt. XXL! I wiped some green compound on a portion of the belt and stropped everything. Kitchen, hunting and pocket knives. Hair shaving goodness. Last night I dropped a sheet of computer paper from 8\" high onto one of my blade..... Szzzipp! It cut! Free falling. Crazy. Just kicking you guys a tip. :)

whats the green compound, do u put it on everytime before u sharpen?

it\'s just polish compound. they run the spectrum from White to Black. dont ask me what color corresponds to what color. :)

i am sure that green is pretty fine. it looks like a big square crayon. you \"color\" it onto things. i think old timers call it \"polishing rouge\"??

i rub it on the belt very seldom. it hangs onto the leather for a long time. it slowly turns black as the steel on the blades are slowly polished off. i\'ve heard mention about recharging the leather every 30 sessions. i bet i\'m at 30 now. it is pretty black looking now. you should feel my axe(s). they are ridiculous.
