What would be your ultimate choice to harvest?

A 180\" WT deer or a 330\" elk?

330 elk wins that choice easily.

Why? Probably because I get to shoot deer every year and have shot some nice ones. I also believe that with all the food plots and piles of protein or supplements in the deer world it has taken something away for me. I think a 330 elk would be less likely to have his growth influenced by food plots and stuff. The next thing we will know is someone is putting steroids out for deer. I like free range with no human influence. The good ole days..........

I would have to go with the 330\'\' elk. I have shot a couple decent deer but have not had a chance at a good bull.

330\" elk for me.

I figure I can hunt whitetails till I can\'t walk anymore. Or they plant me in the ground so I figure I have about 30 more years of deer hunting till I\'m 80. I know my body and I don\'t have 30 years to get a big bull.

white tail I have no interest in, now a 200\" muley I\'m not even looking at the elk nothing quite like big ol mule deer in my opinion if going by the original question I would take the bull.

Deer if its one I know personally, otherwise the elk. I really enjoy shooting a deer that I\'ve watched grow up or found and scouted out. That is what deer hunting is about for me and it really doesn\'t matter how big. To have a 180\" come out of the woodwork would be exciting but kind of lackluster. Now a screaming 330\" elk is another matter. i can\'t scout individual animals, so the excitement comes from researching an area and honing my skills and being as prepared as possible.

i had a 180 wt walk out in front of me once, i grunted just to see what he would do, he turns and starts walking right at me. thing was HUGE. problem was i had filled my buck tag that morning on a 120. i put the grunt tube in my pocket so i wouldnt be tempted anymore. he walked to bout 75 yds, lost interest and left.
so, elk for sure

Elk for sure...............

I live in Illinois and would much rather Elk hunt then deer hunt

330\" elk already have my 180\" whitetail.
A 180\" whitetail is a buck of a lifetime, congrats!!! :upthumb:

yes it is thank you. Haven\'t seen another one even close to him since. Just at the right place at the right time. Shot him with a muzzle loader, he made 3 record books Big Bucks of Illinois,Longhunter and all time Boone and Crockett.

330\" bull until I get one...then I\'ll take a 180\" whitetail :D Tough to shoot a 180\" whitetail if I\'ve never hunted them though...but it would be the same story if we were talking mulies too.

Is a 180\" mule an average buck, decent buck, or great buck?

For a whitey, that is top notch, but I am guessing it\'s not as crazy for a muley?

whitetail deer easy choice
180 is the stuff of legends!
the great Jordan buck scored 206\"

Here is my 165\"ish typical MD buck and my buddy\'s 223\" nontypical MD buck

Nice bucks Brad! You were good lookin back then! :p

The question you ask is a tough one! I\'m still thinking. It\'s pretty even. How\'s that for riding the fence. I\'m wondering which would be more difficult for a bowhunter?
