2 New Packs

I just received my second Kelty Cache Hauler pack.
I am retiring the old Cabelas Alaskan Frame and another old back killer.

These new Kelty packs are nice. They wont break your budget and are a known to be tough.
I found mine on sale at various outlets for ~$100 each

I have the alaskan pack from cabelas too. It will handle a lot of weight but it kills my hips. That kelty cache hauler looks like it sits a little higher in the harness. Let us know how it works after you field test it.

I remove the bag from my old Kelty Super Tioga frame pack. No ledge, but I tie game bags on using parachute cord (I am even able to untie all the knots! ). Not super great, but it had always gotten the job done. My son uses his internal frame pack and puts a garbage bag inside the pack to help keep it clean. I thnk his carries a bit easier. I don\'t know what model his apck is, but the waist belt is a bit too big for him and he has to cinch it down almost as far as it can possibly go with a load....

Ahhh, a good problem to have - a pack heavy with elk meat!

Those are a great frame especially for the $$$. Throw on a stuff sack and you are good to go.

That looks good. I have a Kelty Denali Pro 105 to use for our trip in (6 days) and hopefully to pack out an elk. I plan to use it for sleeping bag, tarp, rain clothes,extra clothing. Then it doubles as my day pack if we spike camp, weighs only 12 oz.

those kelty\'s look awesome. my brother uses an old modified Jansport pack. he loves it and he can carry way heavy loads..which is good for me.

I hope I have a reason this Season to bi**h and moan about my Cabela\'s Alaskan Frame...if so, I\'ll probably end up doing the same thing you did.
