Sat 11-1-2014: Daylight came with cool or cold to some temps, clear skies and no wind... We had 4 grand sons huntin\'... #1 grand son was with his mother... #2 grand son was with me... #3 grand son was with his dad... #4 grand son (1st true deer hunt for this un) was with his dad...
#1, #2 and #4 were all close to each other in stands where my ol\'est son hunts and #3 was in a stand close to camp...
#4 started it out I guess since he\'s the youngest one out there (6)... About 30 minutes after daylight he shoots... I get text from ol\'est son that he had just shot a BIG ol\' fat doe... Then second text comes before I can reply sayin\' they were lookin\' a a good 7 point not 60 yards from um... #4 grand son want shoot (legal to kill more that one a day here in Arkansas) because he\'s more interested in the doe he just shot... Buck leaves... Wait in stand for a while before checkin\' for blood... Text me that that found blood JUST AS...
#1 shoots the buck #4 wouldn\'t shoot that had made his way to one of the lanes #1 stand watches... He don\'t mind sendin\' one down range when it\'s a good buck involved... #1 text me almost before the sound from his gun shot was gone... \"BIG buck down\"...
Dad and #4 while check for blood go load #1\'s buck in Ranger... Dad text me with picture of #1 and his buck and tells me and #2 to just keep huntin\' and that he and #1 would find #4\'s doe...
Meanwhile #2 and me are seein\' several spikes but nothin\' he wants to shoot...
Get text from youngest son that #3 had shot at a BIG 8 point but they couldn\'t find any blood or hair...
Then ol\'est son text me that he and #1 grandson had found #4\'s big doe.... My phone was burnin\' up...
Pictures were taken of #4\'s big ol\' doe and #1\'s buck and off to camp we go to help youngest son and #3 look for any sigh he hit his buck...
No luck findin\' anythin\' that would say #3 hit the buck....
The chore of skinnin\' deer was done by both son\'s and #1 grand son...
That afternoon only doe were seen but #1 sent another un down range resultin\' in dead coyote...
Sunday 11-2-2014: Day dawned clear, windless and cool or cold again... My youngest son and #3 had gone home for church... And we swaped loctation to my area of the lease and where #3 had shot at the BIG 8 point...
Ol\'est son and #4 went to the stand where #3 shot at BIG 8 point... I bet ya think ya know where this is goin\'...  #1 and his mom went to my powerline stand and #2 and me to my stand that overlooks \"The valley of death\"...
Things were a bit slower... BUT   Ol\'est son and #4 had the BIG 8 point at 40 yards... If ya guessed he shot it ya would be wrong... He wouldn\'t shoot it... His brother, dad and paw all told him of the Ol\' Arky family tradition of bloodin\' the face of the 1st buck killed... Asked why he wouldn\'t shoot the BIG 8 point #4 replied \"I don\'t want any blood on my face...\" What ya think...
The mornin\' was kinda uneventfull but all saw deer but nothin\' anyone wanted to shoot...
We decide to come home early since we all were tired and had lots a work to do already...
One fine weekend at deer camp even though I busted 2 tires on my Ranger...
Ya can replace tires but never replace the memories made the Youth Hunt of 2014...
#4 and his BIG ol\' doe....
#1 and his buck and coyote...
New deer hunter...
