As many of the hunting seasons come to a close for 2015, it is time to begin looking forward to 2016. What does your hunting schedule look like for next year? What will you be applying for? Any changes as to where you will be hunting?

2016 still has a few question marks, but is shaping up nicely:
- Sept 1st and 2nd: Dove Hunting
- October 1-2: Guiding a first season antelope hunt for my dad
- October 15-19: 1st season rifle elk hunt
- December 3-4 or 10-11: Late season doe antelope

TBD:
- Deer hunt. I will be redeeming my preference points for either an early or late season hunt
- Moose hunt. I will at least apply!
- Archery cow elk hunt. We\'ll see what happens with this. If I get a bow, I might try to sneak out for a weekend or two in an area TBD.

I have not determined just where I will do my hunting. J.F. and I are planning on doing some scouting together. We will be looking over some areas near where he hunts, and I would like him to check out my hunting haunts. I just might draw a good elk or deer tag, but I think I have a couple of years left to wait for either. Most likely my hunt will be similar to what I experienced this year.

no plans yet. my daughter is getting married in may so will see how much money i have left after that.

Scott, after the wedding an expensive hunt may not be in the cards, however, during the preceding month, I have an idea for you and Trent!

This is a really good idea to. :D

Archery elk, again ... I\'ll take a week for that.

Oh, preceded by archery pronghorn, which is just fun. Looking at a different unit this year, with practically zero hunting pressure.

After that ... not sure. Deer in Nebraska, perhaps, but which season? I\'d love to spend a long weekend chasing roosters in Nebraska or South Dakota, but there are logistical problems there: I don\'t know where the birds are.

Oh, and I really hope to put together a spring turkey trip in northeast WY, too.

All bowhunts for me.

Spring turkey in KY with my daughter.

Wyoming or Colorado elk. I should draw my unit in WY. CO is a backup plan.

Deer in KY.

I would love to finally draw a KY elk but that is not likely to happen.

Spring turkey and elk out west. Probably be in Idaho unless I should draw New Mexico. If I hunt Idaho I may look into incorporating an antelope hunt in Wyoming on the way. One of these days I\'m gonna dedicate some time to bowhunting antelope. It may not be the most exciting hunt but they are some beautiful animals and sure make that I-80 drive much more bearable!

Antelope is actually a very exciting hunt in my opinion. They are so difficult to get close to. I can\'t imagine trying not to knock one down with a bow. That should make it even more exciting!

Man they sure look easy along I-80! I know it\'s probably way harder than it looks. Can\'t wait to try it though!

Looking forward to hearing more about this one Brad. What are you planning on hunting? Or should I ask what aren\'t you planning on hunting?

Hunting water is not that difficult but killing one on the ground with a bow is absurd. I tried stalking them for a few days when we had a lot of rain and I quickly realized that I had a lot to learn before I would sneak up on a pronghorn. For those that have hunted turkeys...you are aware as to how well they see. In my opinion, turkeys aren\'t even in the same league as Pronghorn. It can be done....that\'s for sure but where I stalked them I realized that I better be willing to shoot 80 yards to kill one.

Just today I sent a text to my buddy who lives in AK asking if I should apply for any tags as now is that time for Alaska
So I\'m not real sure what\'s on the docket

We did caribou in 1998 which was fun, kinda looking for a moose this time

Same as always for me. CO western slope area, two elk tags, but one may be an archery tag this year (leftover tag for the rifle season). Never been archery, so I will be counting on all of you to help me out.

Mike
