The beginning of the 2016 elk hunting season is only about six months away. What do you have on your checklist that needs to be done before the season gets here?

Knock down some turkeys.

Seriously I have not made my hunting plans yet so that is up in the air yet.
Some work on the house this summer, mainly painting and new carpet.
Lots of shooting the bow.
Getting in shape.
Pick up some more arrows and game bags.

It\'s still a little early for me to set stuff in stone. I need to see all of the draws first.

Like Francis said, I need to shoot my bow a BUNCH!!!!!!!!!

My main focus other than hopefully drawing is getting in the best shape I can. I\'m hoping to get my first bull.

My biggest hurdles this year will be prepping my house for sale, selling it, buying a new house in FL and moving my wife out there in July or August.
Their schools start in August, so I\'ll have to get her there for that and I\'ll be out there in mid October.

It\'ll be interesting

I\'m pretty set. Need to get a set of trekking poles and maybe a new tight spot quiver. Oh yeah, going to pick up a new rifle next weekend.

Nice! What are you getting?

My list includes as much scouting as possible of some areas I hope to hunt during archery season. On top of that, I just need to continue shooting both my bow and rifle and finalize my bow setup. Still haven\'t gotten a chance to shoot broadheads with it yet.

Did you pick a broad head yet?

Either the Wac\'Em or the Slick Tricks. My dad got some of the Wac\'Em\'s so I\'ll probably try those first and if they fly well, I\'ll go with them.

Can\'t go wrong with the slick tricks. Been using them for years they are by far my favorite fixed blade broadhead.

Yeah, that was my initial plan, but since I have some Wac\'Em\'s to try I figure why not. They seem to be very similar to the slick tricks and I\'ve heard good things about them as well.
