I'm starting to plan for my 3rd Colorado solo elk hunt and looking at 2019 or 2020.  I've been out of the loop for a couple years and I see 2020 and beyond is all is in the review/planning stages.  Hard to consider 2020 if I don't know the season dates.  I'm looking at 1st rifle.  Are the Elk season dates & lengths likely to change for 2020?

I believe they are actually reviewing everything tomorrow, so hopefully we will know soon. But to answer your question, the season dates and lengths could definitely change.

@climb.on

Based on previous Big Game Season Structures, very seldom has there been major changes, only minor tweaks to what is already in place.

Minor changes - Such as:

Archery Season MAY change to Sept 1-30

There MAY be an additional early archery deer season west of I25

Some units MAY change from any elk to bulls only

But if you are looking at elk hunting the 1st Rifle Season in 2020, its probably a good bet it will start the second Saturday in October and run for 5 days.

I would encourage anyone interested in hunting Colorado in the future, to AT LEAST get a Pref Point whenever you can

Good Luck

Thanks guys I appreciate it.  Since we won't know for sure what the new structure will be until June I should probably just plan to hunt...both years!

Sounds like a great plan to me!
