Hi All,
This is only me second year Elk hunting and the unit I went into last year was a complete bust. Was looking at 161 and 421 because I have had buddies hunt there in the past but I am sure things have changed since they've been there last. Just was curious which unit has less hunters (i know, they all have lots of hunters out here) but I was trying to find one that maybe had slightly less pressure or maybe that held more elk. I talked to the CPW a bit about each unit and it seems like both can be ok. Just wanted to see what other hunters had to say about them. Or maybe if there is another until other than those two that are better, not afraid of rough terrain or driving more than an hour lol. I have been to 161 and have a decent spot picked out on the map (approx 3 miles from the trailhead) but Im not sure that will be far enough to get away.
