Got down to the pier on the western shore of Lake Michigan at 5:00AM, saw a buddy with a dandy on, I netted it for him, he had already missed one 10 min earlier.
I set up and got what was the biggest Coho I have ever caught, boat or on-shore. My pal caught another one while I was reeling it in. We both get set up again and he tags another one. He re-sets and I get one. Re-set again and I get a dandy one on(bigger than the first one, Tom gets a hit while I\'m reeling in and while he\'s trying to net mine, (I\'m still fighting the big one, took 20 min to get him in), he gets a hit on his second pole. We have three fish going at once and it\'s a friggin Chinese fire drill. His pal comes over to net his first fish, he lands his second fish and while doing that, his buddy gets a hit. 4 fish on in less than 15 min.
We ended the day at 9:30 AM with 3 for me out of 4 on, Tom got 5 for 10 ad his 3 buddies took another 9 and missed several others. One of the better days I can remember on the pier.
All Cohos, smallest one about 5-6 pounds and the bigger ones were over 10 to nearly 12#\'s
All soaking alewives off the bottom with a slip sinker rig.
Some random pics of the day and one with Tom and his fish.
In case you were wondering, I\'m kinda liking retirement!!@!!!
