Another \'Do you shoot?? Where??\'

Assuming I know that this is a legal elk to shoot, yes with a rifle. With a bow I will take a step to the right and shoot. The elk shouldn\'t see me move at all since it\'s head is behind the tree.

For bowhunters, that would be a pretty tight shot at the crease. But, the (V) is wide open! If that was the elk I wanted, I wouldn\'t be afraid to take it.

With a rifle at that close you will blow both shoulders and loose a bunch of meat from bloodshot. But, a good rifle shot on this elk would be right behind the jaw bone. Guaranteed to drop it in it\'s tracks!

Perfect shot for any weapon imo except for maybe her leg being back a lil. I wouldn\'t want to hit her any farther back than what you see now so I\'d shoot her right there.

Bow I wait a couple seconds for the near leg to move forward when she takes a step. Chip shot when the leg is outbid the way. No reason to rush it.

Rifle, I am putting one right at the base of the neck. Another chip shot. Zero meat loss, zero adrenaline rush. Won\'t know what hit her.

I\'m with those that would shoot now with a rifle. It is shootable with a bow, but like Derek said, take one step to the right and draw. If that is a big problem for some reason, or if the wind is swirling, then I would shoot her now if I wanted to take her home.
