I\'m hunting the late season again this year, Dec 3rd is when it opens.

Do they group up more later in the season? I would imagine if they do it would be even harder to get close to a larger group. Plus they have likely been shot at this season too!

They don\'t group up any more than they do early in the season that I have seen. But they are still in good size herds and yes, they are definitely shy! I have had them take off running from more than a mile away when they saw me. Makes for a difficult hunt, but it\'s still a blast! So different than elk hunting in that you know you are going to see animals everyday, you just have to be good in your tactics to get close enough for a shot.

I\'ll be crawling around the prairie Sunday trying to stick a doe. Tags good till December 31

Terry, I\'ve seen group of nearly 500 in December

Dang! Yeah, in the areas I hunt I haven\'t seen anything like that. A big group would be 20 of them.

I\'m just hunting does this year ... and have a friend coming in October. We\'ll do some rifle hunting then. I was going to try to get out last weekend, and it just didn\'t happen, but that\'s ok ... we\'ll wait for rifle season.

Technically they are Pronghorn, no antelope in North America... (well maybe Texas... haha)
