Anyone Else Chomping At The Bit?

I have already got some major elk fever! I've been pouring over maps and working on plans for the 2018 season and I've got to say, it's driving me crazy! I need to get back out in the woods!

Luckily I've got an antelope hunt in a few weeks to take my mind off of it a little bit and I've also got some scouting plans lined up, weather permitting.

Anyone else already going stir crazy?

Oldest is five and the twins are three. All boys, which is good, but still a little young to take with me scouting and stuff. Otherwise I'd be out there way more often!

You're not too far away from having the oldest out in the woods.

Dont forget about Nebraska - they have the best Youth Hunting Program / Opportunities

I definitely need to do some research on Nebraska. I?ve wanted to look into some whitetail hunts out there anyway ever since I?ve got the bow. I need some practice dropping the string on something other than a target!

I feel you...and the wait is killing me already.  Still have a muley buck tag to fill, but that is it for the year.  Already making plans and upgrading gear for next year.  And the BRO crew and their awesome Land of the Free series (if you all are watching it daily, subscribe and get caught up) going on right now is making the fever 100 times worse!

My daughter set her wedding date for next year

Wait for it....

Wait for it...

I guess I?ll have to shoot my elk before then!

Ouch! I would have thought as your daughter that she would know better than that Brad!

Planning is a super way to spend quality time with my 13 year old son. Now if I can just stop my son from growing so dang fast so he can wear some of camo and boots I bought this year is another story, lol.

The only reason I'm not completely losing my mind yet is because I have whitetail hunting until mid February, Turkey going March through May, THEN it'll go full bore.

I have had to buy new camo and boots for my son five years in a row. The boots he wore for elk hunting were "getting tight" while pheasant hunting this year. I also gave a family just getting their youngest into hunting. It had three seasons of camo and two pairs of boots in the yard bag full of goodies! We should start a second-hand youth clothing exchange!

To answer the question, yes, I am already thinking about elk hunting next year. I put my bow away after my elk hunt but had it out shooting last week again. I'll need to figure out a OTC unit if I don't draw the same unit as this year. That'll have me busy planning.

After 5 + years of using a Badlands Superday, I decided to upgrade.
I needed less fatigue on my shoulders and more carrying capacity.

I wanted a Kuiu Icon Pro 1850, solid color bag and a frame / suspension to fit.

Put some feelers out and ended up buying exactly want I was looking for from 2 different guys

I got the system put together and I cant wait to use it for elk hunting.
My shoulders are already thanking me

I'd have maybe told her if she wanted any financial assistance from dad for the wedding, to pick a different day
