I know we have a lot of PP collectors on here.

Is anyone going to pull a really cool unit this year?
 
Great thread ... and no, I\'m not.

(Oh, I\'ll get some great tags ... ALL tags are great, after all ... but no, no special ones this year.)
 
Funny,

I have been spending the whole weekend looking over my points in various states and trying to decide what to do. Putting plan this and that together and saying \"what if\" and \"what that\"

I was going to burn my CO Elk points but I think am going to wait on that. Looks like I am going after a Utah Elk tag and it looks like I have a good chance at pulling it, although time will tell. Tag numbers, and fence jumpers could mess up my odds.

Points in the states I have built on and try for the best chance I have right now.

If I don\'t draw I may go back to CO OTC, or to MT again.........

The worst thing is the wait!!!
 
i may apply for a moose cow tag. or may wait and just get a pp and start putting in for a bull next year. havnt decided yet. alot depends on how much i have left after my daughters wedding.
 
I\'ll be redeeming my points for a deer tag this year I believe. Not sure which one yet. And I\'ll be putting in for the long-shot moose tag...hey, someone has to draw it, right?
 
I put in for everything under the sun. Eventually, I\'ll draw them. I\'m assuming you\'re only talking elk here. WY, AZ, NM, and CO. I\'ll probably draw a good opportunity unit here in Colorado this year but hopefully I\'ll draw AZ. Fingers crossed

I\'m at that awkward stage of life. By the time I draw a good tag, I will be too old to go on the hunt.
 
I have a great chance to draw my long sought after Colorado archery elk tag this year. I also have a lot of pronghorn PP\'s built up, so my two buddies and I are going to figure out what unit to put in for. Lastly are the weighted preference points for sheep, goat and moose (8, 9 & 10 respectively), so hopefully I get a low draw number and get one of those archery tags!
 
OH, YEAH!! Putting in for a Unit 2 archery elk hunt here in CO. I\'ve got the points based off last year\'s draw results but anything can happen in the draw.

Slight dilemma: 20th wedding anniversary Sept 21st! I didn\'t bow hunt as much as rifle when we got married so thought Sept was a safe bet until Sandy asked what we\'re doing to celebrate! A wall tent for 2 weeks in NW CO isn\'t what she has in mind either....I asked. :) Not really sure how I\'m going to work in 2 weeks of hunting plus a week of anniversary trip but it\'ll all work out.
 
Sounds like an early surprise is perfect Russ! Maybe a surprise getaway somewhere around a month before your anniversary...she\'s never suspect it!!! :lol:
 
But that\'s my scouting time Derek!! LOL!!

We\'re actually looking at a week in Hawaii in October or early November. Wife has a friend of the family who\'s a HI native and he invited us over so we\'ve got a place to stay and a \"guide\".
 
Perfect! Yeah, you don\'t want to go to Hawaii in the middle of September anyway! That is the nicest time weather-wise that we have in Colorado ;)
 
I noticed I mentioned \'guide\'. I think I\'ll see her reaction if I ask about hunting while there! After 22+ years together, it\'s fun just to see what temp I can get her blood to before saying \'Just Kidding\'!! :lolno:

Granted, a fishing trip might be possible as Sandy enjoys that but likely as close to hunting as I\'ll get.
