Anyone use an SD Card Viewer?

So last year prior to the season opening I would carry my lap top with me to check cameras in the field so that I can download the pictures. During the hunt I would use my IPAD for obvious reasons of it being smaller and lighter. Only issue is that it cant be used as a viewer and so i would have to download the pics, which we all know that you run out of memory really fast. So this year I am thinking of getting an SD card viewer to carry in my pack to make it a little easier and faster to check cameras in the field. I have looked at a few so far from Wildgame inovations and Moultrie. Do any of you guys use any of these viewers and have any recomendations on a brand or model? Thanks!

I was looking at those viewers in the past and brought it up to my buddy, and he said \"Why don\'t you just buy a small digital camera, then you can view the SD cards and have a camera instead of just a viewer?\" So, I purchased a Fuji point and shoot at Costco and it works great to look at the SD cards and have a camera as well.

They make SD card viewers for your cell phone that work well and are not expensive. (10 to 15 dollars) The viewer plugs into your micro usb port on your phone and you toss the SD card into the viewer to look at your pictures on the way to the stand. Amazon has different models on there just search for \"cell phone sd card viewer\"

i just bring my cheap digital work camera.

small and it works fine. try it at home first. my personal digital camera didnt work. like the formats were in conflict or something.

I have one from Wildgame Innovations that the family got me for Christmas. It works just fine and is about the size of a cell phone. I always carried a small camera with me in the past and that worked good for me. The model I have is a vu50. I have no complaints with it.

$29 from amazon. Works with any phone including iphones. It creates it\'s own wifi that your phone connects to. It will play vids and will also recharge the phone.

That unit looks great WapitiBob.

I just may have to graduate from the old school!

I have always brought along a camera and just thrown the SD card in there. But I also might have to look at these new card readers for the phone. So you can view the pics on the phone, but do they save on your phone as well then? Or is it strictly viewing that you get?

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I\'m gonna lean towards just using my camera as a viewer. That can save me enough money to put in for an additional hunt this year :)

Thanks again guys!

I just use a micro usb to SD card reader. Like $5 from Ebay. Make sure phone is off and then plug into micro usb on the phone and then plug in the SD card. Turn on phone and use a something like ES File Explorer Ap (Android) to access pics. Works good. Works great if you are switching out cards and want to take the one with pics to your stand or vehicle. If you are just pulling pics off the card and then using the same card it can take a while if you have many pics on your card.

It\'s the cat\'s pajamas for an Iphone. We used them a ton last year. Zero problems.
Used to be the only one that worked but I have heard (undocumented) that with the new iphone OS updates that the ipad firewire sd reader will now work.
