i feel stupid. i\'m one of those guys that hate change. HATE CHANGE!!

i moved to a different city. put my garage into a storage unit, sold a bunch of furniture, and moved from a house into a tiny apartment. sold my home, and now i am about to pull the final trigger on a new house.

the \"i feel stupid\" part. it\'s been awesome. i dont know what i was so worried about. all that time wasted hand-wringing.

even the apartment hasnt been that bad. cramped, no sofa, no TV.

but watching the wacky neighbors has been damn fun. i have young college chicks doing hula-hoop aerobics in the lawn outside my window..i seriously thought about filming a part..but that reeked of \"creepy old guy\"..i adverted my gaze. :)

i have family fights, ex-drag queen make up artist, lady hooked on codiene, a pro chef i blew away with my slow cooking,...

am i ready to take possession of my new house and get the EFF out of here? yes!!

i really need to address my issues with change. none of it has ever been bad.

Before you go, a suggestion for your last night there:

- Have the make-up artist doll up the addict
- Have the co-ed\'s teach the addict to hula-hoop
- Have the chef prepare a half-time meal

Then, the co-eds can be the ring girls, and mid-way through the last family fight, the addict can perform a halftime show while you have some good eats from the chef!

I use to not have neighbors that I could see BUT we bought to close to town way back in 1982 and the area has \"changed\" to say the least... We had a dirt road to our \"little piece of haven on earth\" and with the help of a few good friends cleared us a place to build or \"dream home\"...

But alas no more dirt and gravel road, it\'s now paved and more streets that I ever wanted... Annexed into the city, though it be small it\'s a city none the less... Our septic system (which was installed by yours truly) never gave us a bit of trouble but I can\'t say the same for the city sewer we were made to hook up to with a $600 connection fee... Duplex apartments surround us now and folks come and go, so you never get to know anyone before they are gone to Lord knows where... They built a interstate (I-530) within 3/4\'s of mile from us so it\'s hard to listen to the silence anymore...

We still have deer in the back yard that folks on the road (I still call it a road but it\'s a street now) stop and watch...

BUT we still have our \"little piece of haven on earth\".... :upthumb: :upthumb: Even with all the distractions... :D :D
