ESRI Arcgis online is some pretty darned good aerial resolution.
For example, this photo is saved from GE as a JPEG

The same image from ArcGIS online ArcGIS online
ArcGis explorer (for your PC) has similar resolution. I\'m actually going to move away from GE, as ArcGis has better resolution, a long list of additional layers (like topo), can import most GIS files (KML/KMZ, shapefile, etc.), and works just as fast.
Anyway, if you are looking for something with the resolution of Flashearth, but want the tilt and pan capability of GE, the ArcGIS Explorer may be the tool for you.
