Archers; anyone wear orange during muzzleloader season?

Thinking of wearing at least the orange hat, even though it\'s not required by law. I will be hunting in a pretty heavily hunted area the next two weeks.

I never wore orange during that time.
I think most hunters are aware there could be archers in the woods at the same time

I\'m not a bow hunter, but if I was, i\'d wear at least a hat. There\'s some trigger happy crazies out there.

When I was muzzleloader huntin\' in Colorado I saw a lota archery hunters (a few saw me even though I was wearin\' orange :mrgreen: ) and none of um had any orange on at all... Iwas one a those that always knew what was around and what I could and couldn\'t shoot...

I worry about the bow hunters who get an elk, and pack the antlers out on their back. That\'s just asking for trouble.

Any time when rifle/muzzle hunter are in the woods I wear blaze orange. I and quote from my son last year, \"ah, Dad I look like a pumpkin\". My response, \"We\'ll you will be an alive pumpkin\". :crazy:

That would be the whole month of Sept here in Colorado for bear season. Which is a rifle season. So, pretty much during all of bow season there\'s hunters with rifles too. Plus, the muzzleloaders for 9 days too.

Here in Arkansas archery season runs from late Sept (the 27th this year) til the last day of Feb the next year... Durin\' the muzzleloader and modern gun seasons ALL hunters archery huntin\' MUST wear orange cap and vest both...

As it should be. The DOW claims blaze orange won\'t be seen by animals. So, then why don\'t bow hunters need to wear it? Most muzzy hunters using traditional gear need to get just as close as bow hunters. They have to wear BO. I don\'t get the DOW at all sometimes.

An example... The last muzzleloader season I hunted in Colorado I saw a few archery hunters and most saw me.. None were wearin any orange ... Also while I was lookin\' for a place to set and watch for a while I had a coyote walk within 5\' of me while I was standin\' next to a small tree... Never knew I was there... I had a 6x6 and 2 cows within 25 yards after I found me a good place to set and watch a neat littl\' waterhole/wallow... None of um ever saw me... I was settin\' on a rock next to a rock face with some small pine on both sides of me...

So I have no problem wearin\' orange since I had a vest and cap on durin\' both encounters...

And NAW I didn\'t kill the 6x6 \'cause I didn\'t have a bull tag... :downthumb: :downthumb: But I did kill one a the cows... :upthumb: :upthumb:
