Arrow audible...

I hate changing up stuff right before a hunt, but I cannot stand my new arrow wrap.
When I bought my new bow I wanted to outfit it with a log of an arrow. So I chose the XT golf tip hunter with the lost camo wrap.
I went this route because the normal arrows were 9.3 gr per \", but the lost camo was 10.9 per \".

The arrows fly great, but fletchings HATE staying on this thing. I\'m guessing whatever glue is used does not like to adhere to the wrap.
So even with me just shooting the target, not grouping/hitting different arrows, the fletchings fall off.

So those arrows are getting side lined.
My new set up is the same arrow, just no wrap.....

Let me post up my new numbers.

These are still a step up from my old bow and arrow set up because that was 60lb and 396 gr arrows.
So this will be just as quick, if not faster and still pack more punch.

If I decide I want more weight, I\'ll be looking at front and rear weights!

The other thing I wasn\'t too sure about with the wrap is when it got dinged or scratched.
It would be permanent and for all I know effect arrow flight.... so I just don\'t want to deal with that!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS.....

fatties are smoker meals.....

That gave me a good chuckle.

My arrows run 10.6gpi at 29.75\". I like them heavy too. Throw in a COC BH (Magnus Buzzcuts 125) and the idea is I might overcome a poor shot placement with good penetration.

At first I started searching through my posts like \"did I write fatty somewhere?\"
Then it all clicked and I started cracking up too!

I\'m doing a fatty today for a BBQ.

You definitely have a nice set up. I bet the arrow is nice and quiet :upthumb:

Made my fatties...

Dang that looks good!!

I have used wraps for many years and found certain brands do the same thing you are talking about the glue will not hold to them.

Btw I\'ve always had great success using super glue gel. Just clean the shaft good and use some nail polish remover to make sure there no oil left.

Had a similar problem with wraps...until I bought Zing Primer. I shoot aluminums, and I routinely grab my arrows by the fletchings to pull them from 3D targets, and I\'ve yet to pull a fletch loose after using the Zing Primer. I bought it from Lancaster Archery online...super amazing product! I use the Loctite Ultra Control Gel with it.

I use the Loctite as well. I use fingernail polish remover to clean the arrow and the base of the vane. I haven\'t had any problems.

hahaha my wife started laughing when I told her about this and then she MADE SURE I TOLD EVERYONE it has nothing to do with her being pregnant  :haha:

first off dang that looks good. second, i cant get anything but blazer vanes to stay on my arrows. but those things stay on extremely well

Dan you are a magician with food !!

I also have went to the boil on wraps with great success. Also a real time saver as I can do a dozen arrows in about 5 minutes. They stay on very well and I have used them for about 5 years now. No more glue for me !! Clean boiling water. Easy and done but a little more expensive.
