Hey all, I plan on upgrading from my 14 year old bow and am putting in the mental gymnastics for an 80 lb draw weight bow. I've looked into it already myself but just curious for those of you with 80lb bows, how many total grains is your arrow+broadhead/what's your arrow set up like?

Got a buddy shooting GT pierce platinums 300 with a few diff 100gr BH setups, and a couple of the screw in weights up front. Total weight is 470gr.

My Hoyt is only set at 75#but I use 300 gold tip velocity pros @ 30.5? with blazers and G5 strykers. They fly true as I can shoot.

With 80 lb draw you will have energy to burn. If hunting elk I'd build something that weighed at least 500 grains.  The sky is the limit as far as setups but you have plenty of options unless you have a long DL.
