Anyone use this app for a GPS feature on their phone?

Avenza Maps is a mobile map app that allows you to download maps for offline use on your iOS, Android, and Windows smartphone or tablet. Use your device\'s built-in GPS to track your location on any map. Plot and record information about locations, import and export placemarks, measure distance and area, and even plot photos. You can easily browse and purchase maps from all over the world using the convenient Avenza Map Store?online or in-app.

I use it every year for pheasant hunting. Instead of having to use their walk in access maps and constantly look back and forth, I just download them to my phone. The CPW has links for each county that you can download and then use a program (like avenza) to read them.

Super handy, it\'s nice being able to see your location on the map and which field you\'re driving up on. Sure beats the paper maps.

Looks very cool ... ultimately, I\'m sure this is what we\'ll use in several years.

But for now -- I really like paper, or my GPS.

IMO, cell phones have two big problems: the screen, and the battery.

I\'ve tried OnX maps on my phone, and they are GREAT ... indoors. Outside, not so much.

Of course, I have to admit, I\'m addicted to paper maps. I haven\'t found a paper map I don\'t like.

Oh I agree 100%. The ONLY use I\'ve found for it is pheasant hunting, where we are out on the flat plains and its relatively easy to drive past a tiny sign telling you which field to hunt. I had the same experience with OnX maps while Elk hunting, terrible functionality basically as soon as leaving indoor WIFI. However, I always have a charger in my truck while chasing ditch chickens and this proved handy for that and has been my only experience with the APP.
