bears

OTCWill is in Idaho and Colt the knife is going along for the trip. I can\'t wait to hear the story.
 
Yep, like Terry said, I\'m heading to Idaho from June 11-16. First time hunting spring bears/new area for me so no promises except that I\'ll have a great time and post lots of pics.

I need to live through other people for the next 115 days until I am in the woods again hunting...

Will,

Was your spring bear a controlled hunt? Or OTC?
I\'m on the ID site and only see controlled hunts.
 
It\'s reduced price bear, $41 plus a regular hunting license, $154. It\'s unit specific but OTC.
 
I just found out Oklahoma does OTC archery tags October 1-19th.

I will be making some phone calls tomorrow on this for sure.

should have arrowed one before i got married. my wife has a soft spot for bears...i think she snuck a no-bear clause into our vows.

So it just so happens that Oklahoma whitetail and bear season are during the same time.
Wouldn\'t it be a shame if you were \"charged by a bear\" while whitetail hunting :shh:

hahahha...

funny story. our deer season also coincides with bear season. my buddy drew a fantastic deer tag. i offered to help him find one. he suggested i just buy a OTC bear tag so i could hunt as well. i brought it up to my wife, while we were both brushing our teeth in the morning..just snuck it in there. \"how did you sleep?\"
\"fine\"
\"any good dreams?\"
\"no, i forget my dreams\"
\"yea, me too..hey do you dream in color?\"
\"i think so\"
\"jake thinks i should buy a bear tag\"

what i got back was a toothpaste frothy pleading ..\"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!\"

now to this day, if she says \"no\"..i ask if she is serious..by saying..\"is this a \"no-No\" or a Bear-No?\" if i get a \"Bear-no\" i just drop it, there is no chance. move along..nothing to see here. the battle is not worth it. :)

I like you way of sneaking it in and like your approach on finding out how serious something is lol.
