Have any you hunted these areas? I've got my sights set on Lemhi, but I understand the Beaverheads have pretty good numbers too. The units I'm looking at are all stacked on top of one another, 37A, 29, and 30. I'm just trying narrow my scouting efforts for the summer. I think this would be a good place to start as I know this part of the state best.

GPS and Map Chip, check and check. I've got some paper topos too. Absconded with a few of the old lady's trail cameras, so I think my scouting arsenal is passable.

The elevation is high, which means that my scouting will be most likely in late July through August. I've been back there in June and the river crossings are downright dangerous.

Decent units with elk...find an area you can get 5 mis plus back behind the gate and that should help, inside of that and you'll find lots of hunters...good luck with the former with the ribbons of high country running through the large valleys
