some stranger PM\'d me on another forum. a local hunt forum. california based stuff.
he needed help with his crazy Bear bow. he said it would occasionally shoot an arrow off target. i\'m not a great tuner, but i know i can find a drastic problem. i arranged to meet him at a bow range..with a friend in case he was an axe murderer..or worse. haha
NICEST GUY!! his bow was a mess. wide Dloop allowing the arrow to slide up and down the string an 1/8th. i tied a nock point below the arrow and locked it all in. checked his nocks for tightness. i found his hamskea rest arm so loose!! we fixed that. it would teeter to the right and not let the occasional arrow drop into the valley. which makes the arrow fly like it had a super tight centershot.
he was shooting great. he still needs to sight his bow, but i am probably giving him an extra (spare) hunter hogg it seven pin. i\'m hooked on sliders now and will never go back.
guess what? he invited me to a buddies ranch in South dakota..for pronghorn. this ranch is unhunted and has a goat problem. the owners shoot the occasinnal meat goat..YEAHAW!!! he just called me to confirm. we might catch the mid october season. archery is OTC.
and he is a K9 cop. i\'ve always wanted to put on bite suit and let a dog attack me. part of the conquer you fears stuff. i heard there are no bigger rushes than trying to escape a dog like that. hahahha.. dumb i know.
i also try for 5 for 5 at the bow range. i stand at the range and shoot one arrow at each target..from 30 - 70. i have NEVER hit a five for five. i did it twice yesterday. my bow is shooting lights out with me behind it. i have never shot so well in my life. my animal confidence is soaring.
what a day!!
