Late archery elk starts for us November 27th. Whats the best way to hunt elk late in the year and not during the rut?

fello NW hunter? i have asked this my self in the past, i have found getting to a food source and waiting for the elk to return to a bedding area has worked best for me. i also know guys that set up tree stands and do well every year. also i have observed that the elk tend to be a bit more leery after all the pressure so get the wind rite and move slowly.

In deed it is for me this year....I filled both Idaho tags and this dandy bull in Montana for tag3. I figured at 50 this year it is all downhill from here
my body paid for it with all the pakin and hiking having my knee drained once and another attempt as well..I am not complaining for sure and all DIY/OTC hunting and packing,elk antlers and elk just can't get enough! Luckily the wife and dog were still home when the season ended
