Ok - you guys/gals out there that use a bipod (in the field) - give me your recommendations. I\'m looking at a Harris pivoting bipod, 13.5\"-27\"

You can make your own sticks for practically nothing. I have some Harris Bipods on my 17 HMR only because I bought them at a yard sale for $2 bucks. I much prefer my home made ones for my 220 Swift

I use Stoney Point and really like the snap-on concept. I have a set of Harris too without the pivot. Great for the range but not as flexible as these in the field. No input on the Harris with the pivot.

i have the oldest Harris bipods.

i got them when they first came out. i bet they are 30 years old. they are so much quieter than the new ones.

i will never get rid of them.

I realize this isnt what you asked for..... but if you like having a hiking stick along anyhow, you can modify it with a heated, flattenned, and bent piece of PVC to make it into a shooting monopod. See attached.
