Ok, I am going to pick up a pair and was probably going to go with the Kenetrek Hunting Gaiters.

Anyone use them or other brands?

Shed hunting starts this week for me and tossing these over my hiking boots is the plan.

I have gaiters but usually only wear them when its deep snow.

Are you wearing them for brush and stuff?

Got a pair of OR gaiters for Christmas ... the XLs, though, are too large.

I got to looking for a suitable replacement, and, since all shopping from my location is via the internet/UPS, all the options are open. Been thinking that the First Lite gaiters may fit my style. Not tall, but personally I don\'t like the tall snow gaiters. Most of what I need gaiters for would be, like you, drift-busting while otherwise hiking. I think they\'d be adequate for CC-skiing, though, too -- not perfect, but adequate. I did see the Kenetreks in a store somewhere this fall -- look like quality products.

My thinking with the gaiters is it will keep the snow and water out of the inside of my boots, keep my lower pants dry and I will be able to cross streams easier (not deep ones). Archery Elk when the ground is wet I was thinking I could toss them on until everything dries out.

With gaiters and a good pair of wool pants, you can wade snow up to your tail. I used to wear them quite a bit until I discovered Mucks.

I picked up a pair of First Lite wool pants and they are REALLY comfortable. Cant wait to try them out during season.

I just placed an order from First Lite. I was disappointed that the gaiters weren\'t available. I talked with one of their associates and they said they wouldn\'t be available until June.

I have or crocdiles. I ended up wearing them during bow season and rifle and late rifle. Really really liked them. They work great keeping the early season dew from getting pants wet and they were great in 12\" of snow.

Yes they are a little noisy but it was a trade off. They never sagged or fell or came out of position.

I use a pair of kuiu gaitors. Strong quiet and comfortable. I wear first lite Kanab pants which are great pants but don\'t seem real durable to me. I\'d rather snag a $60 pair of gaitors then $170 pair of pants. They also keep my lower legs nice and dry on small creek crossings and tall dew covered grass.
