What do you guys use for doing a lot of hiking September? And what do you recommend? I have a pair of UA Browtine 400s but can't decide if I should get a pair of uninsulated boots. My feet don't get sweaty too quick. And it would be nice to save a little money and be able to hunt deer throughout the winter with the same boots that I use for elk. But will I regret putting a couple miles on in the mountains with 400g insulated boots

I get un insulated boots and wear a light weight merino sock when it is warm. Then in the winter I just put a thicker sock on. My feet tend to stay pretty warm though and don't get cold easy.

The boots I wear when it storms our is real wet are 400s. They go great and no problems. If the temps stay below 70 not bad either. If it is dry and a fairly warm day my feet do sweat a bit in them. I always take two pair of boots with me.
