Looking to pick up a new sight for my bow. Any pointers on what works best for you? Been looking at sliders(single pin or multiple pins) and a fixed 5 or 7 pin sight. Predominantly hunt whitetails back east but am interested in these slider type sights.

Spot Hogg or MBG, can?t go wrong with either. I use the double pin as I like vertical pins better.

I've been very happy with my Spot Hogg, very well made. As far as pins go, I think that's all personal preference as far as fixed versus sliders. Everyone has an opinion on what works best for them. When it comes to the number of pins, 7 pins would only be needed if you plan on shooting a long ways IMO.

Have 4 Spot Hogg?s, 2 Seven Deadly Pins and 2 standard 5 pin. Love these sights. No reason for me to change.

Ive been shooting a widowmaker for the last year or so work extremely well in low light I love the micro adjustments

I shoot hha sliders, love em. Used to shoot spot hog, loved them too. Maybe there?s a shop close by and you can try a few sights out

MBG and Spot Hogg are what I would consider the gold standard for sights. I have both and my current favorite is the Fast Eddie XL with the double pin.

I love my new Spot Hogg Grinder 5 pin.  Amazing.  When its dialed in its dead on.    So much so I needed to go pickup another half dozen arrows because I keep robin hooding them....Also the adjustments are simple and easy and the pins don't have slides they pivot and you are able to adjust L to R with the pins as well to really take advantage of a good sight in.

agree..the Spothoggs sights are the GOLD STANDARD as far as sight adjustments.  man, there is none better.

i found once my bow is dialed i rarely, if ever need to adjust..so i just went with MBG on the next round.  a bit less $$, and i think lighter.  i get my bow set up, tighten down the mechanical locking screws (none on a spothogg) and it is welded in place..there is no way it moves.

you cant go wrong with a modern sight..there are so many i'll never get around to trying anymore.

i have a BROKEN 7 deadly pins on my bow now, because i didnt want to buy a lefty sight just in case i cannot even draw a bow lefty..it is so old..the first ones they came out with..still very tank-like.  you need a sight to practice anchor points, even if you are not worried about accuracy yet.

Thank you to everyone for the reply?s! I will be looking into all these brands and hopefully head to my bow shop to test a few!

I Love my MBG 3 pin slider. Pins set at 30-40-50. Practicing out to 100 sure makes 40 to 50 yards seem like a chip shot. Confidence is key.

I have always rocked a 5 pin static sight. I would reccomend Montana Black Gold with micro adjust. I tried a single pin slider and didn't like it, but really considering the BG ascent 3 pin slider.

I use a black gold 5 pin but a 5 pin slider might be a better option Incase you need to make a longer shot and you don?t have 7 pins covering the entire sight window. IMO a 1 or 2 pin slider might be too much in the heat of the moment.

I use the HHA Optimizer Ultra.  It is a single pin and I love it.  Adjustment goes to 80 yds.

Another vote for the MBG slider.  Been running a Pure 75 five pin slider for several years now.  Its an awesome sight and been perfect for me.

All about Spot Hogg.............lots of great models to choose from that are dependent upon what you're doing.

I love the MBG 5 pin slider. I feel I get the best of both worlds for hunting.

the Sword Jury is the best quailty sight I have seen and used. I think it is built better than the spot hog because it has no plastic. all stainless
