Looking at upgrading my sight and wanted to know what everyone thought about either a 5 pin or single pin?

Montana Black Gold Rush 5 pin custom.  Top three pins are .019 G Y R bottom two are .01 G G

I have not dialed in the bottom two pins yet but I really like it.

Check out the CBE tek hybrid.. 5 pin you can make either your 20 or 60 yd pin your floater

That really is a cool sight, I just might try it! Thanks for the information everyone!

I've always went with 5 or 7 pin sights because of in numerous hunting situations with a moving animal, its easier to split set pins than to move your sight in the heat of the moment.

Single pin or multiple pins is really an individual preference. I've shot both, and I've ended up with a 7 pin Spot Hogg. My Dad likes the single pin and shoots it well. Some people like that the single pin has less clutter and you don't have to worry about using the wrong pin. When I shot a single pin I left it set for 35 yards. Anything closer the difference was negligible, and out to 50 yards I only had to hold 3"-4" over.
Now I've found that I like to practice at 60-70-80 yards so I've got the 7 pins. It makes the 40 and 50 yard shots seem easier. I've also come to depend highly on the vertical wire on Spot Hogg sights. It gives you instant feedback on whether or not you are chanting you bow, even before you glance at the level.

Like I said, single or multiple is personal preference. Any shop worth their salt will let you try both before you decide to buy. With so many good sights on the market today, pick a couple of each at a shop if they have them and try them out.

Good luck,
Aim soft and shoot straight

Right now I am using a 5-pin sight, I could see pros and cons to both. A single pin sight would have much less clutter, could be set to the exact yard, but it is one more step to take before executing a shot at a very anxious moment (easy to make mistakes).

I set my 5 pin hybrid to make my 20 yd my floating pin and I can shoot it out to 100, and my 60 pin is now a 130.. Great to practice that far. Especially for antelope! Most say to set up you 20-60 then you can use your 60 as a floater but I don't want to wait till 60+ to float if I have the time to set it. There are pros and cons and I can see where a single pin is great if you have the time, but out west here we seldom have that, with the winds constantly swirling. Jmo
