Check this vid out. Then answer the questions with your thoughts

This bull makes a couple of bugles. What are these bugles telling you?

When would you take your shot? Time/frame

I\'d have killed him when he first stop almost broadside just after the 1 minute mark. I believe he is just saying \"hey, I\'m over here\" . Nothing too complicated. Sounds like the bugle they often make to round up cows. He certainly ain\'t pissed. Cool vid

Broadside shot at about 1:25, shirt pocket shot at 1:50 and several times there after. The bull was just tooting his flute. I wouldn\'t read any more into it than there actually is.

I would take my shot at the same time WW and OTC Will does in this clip. I guess pretty much everybody would shoot this guy at that time.
It would be interesting to know if the guys doing the video had cow called just previous to what we can see here in the video??

+1

I would agree after the 1 minute mark for a shot.

I agree with Glacier County on what was it that happened before. It appears to me that the bull is focused with eyes, ears and body language in looking for another elk or several elk. He isn\'t feeding or causually walking and bugling, but he looks to be on the prowl and responding to calls that have been made. Since I didn\'t hear any other calling, either there were real elk bugling and kept quiet during the video, but brought him in; or the camera crew was calling and stopped calling when the bull got close. I beleive he is letting other elk (or callers) know his location (and perhaps some of his dominiance in his bugle).

The trouble with watching videos like this is its not \'real time\'.
I would expect everyone to say the first good opportunity !!!
Because we all know how fleeting the 2nd one can be...
