Elknuts video's are good but there is alot of things to try and master with his- I liked Coreys post on the old 101 page- sorry I looked but could not find it, I did ask the mods so hopefully they will reply if these got moved over but it was just the location bugle, cow call, and challenge bugle- great first start at learning to call and if you want to branch out later you already have the essentials

I would check out youtube links. That is how I get better. Or just listen to elk sounds and try to imitate them

Save your money and check out Rocky's FREE calling tutorials on Youtube. Here is one of many.........

Dirk is right. Rocky's video is excellent.

When I do seminars on calling I teach 5 different types of vocalizations.
1 - Locator bugles - I use a smaller tube with no growl or chuckle (keep it non threatening)
2 - Agressive bugles - growl, chuckle, lip bawl. Bugle over the bull you're after.
3 - General Cow herd talk - soft, gentle high to low pitch tones
4 - Estres Cow - whiny, wavering cow tones. This communicates "I want to be bred NOW"
5 - Lost Calf - high pitched, urgent, "I'm lost, help!", short duration calf sound. Great for calling in cows.

Search on Youtube and you can find a whole slough of instructionals from Corey, Rockie, and many others.
The "Full of Bull" series from Elk101 are also really good for breaking down hunts and explaining what calls were used/worked for a set up. Check them out here:

Also the University of Elk Hunting DVD set is awesome!
Another resource that I've personally really liked is a guy named Chris Roe at http://roehuntingresources.com/ Unfortunately it's a paid subscription type of deal but he's excellent to describe what calls the elk use when talking with each other. He was a wildlife bioligist in Colorado I think...? What's cool is that he has video to back up what he thinks every call means. He approaches calling with a very scientific point of view. So far it's been very interesting to watch and learn.

i actually found a google chrome extension that allowed me to capture the audio from youtube videos...then I grabbed as much audio as I could from Rocky, ElkNut, etc. and burned it to a cd.  It's in my truck at all times...along with several diagrams and my grunt tube.  with an hour drive to and from work I have plenty of time for perfecting my calling.

There are a lot out there.  I also watch the world elk calling championships to get an idea of how to call.
