How many of you use calls while rifle hunting? If you do use them, what are your strategies? When do you call and what kind of call to you use?

When I was guiding I used a nervous bark to stop elk so my hunter would have a good standing shot.

Notice I said nervous bark. There is no such thing as a nervous grunt or popping grunt. It is a version of the bark not a grunt.

Many years ago, I took my uncle rifle hunting during 2nd season.
We hiked up into a small meadow one evening, he on one side of a small bump of a ridge in the middle of the meadow, me on the other. We couldnt see each other.
Snow was about 6-8 inches and it was cold.
We settled in, after a few minuted I gave a few cow calls.
Not long after that he shoots a big fat cow that came in to investigate

I think that cow mews can not only cover your presence while still hunting, they can stop elk for a shot, and bring them in for a shot too.
But not as effective as earlier in the season
