Camping around Ridgway/Ouray

Going to be doing a combination birthday/scouting trip for Unit 61 the 3rd weekend of July and looking for a place to stay.

Would prefer a cabin or anything other than tent camping or a motel. I\'ve looked at the yurts in the Ridgway reservoir campground but they\'re booked solid. Also looked at the cabins in the Ouray KOA but also booked. Will have a nephew from Oklahoma so thought being by the lake would be nice.

Thought about renting a camper then just get an RV site at the Ridgway reservoir campground.

Any suggestions?

Russ - Check for cabins around Cimarron.
We stayed at a place on the road to Silver Jack reservoir that was pretty nice.
It had a private lake that was full of fish too.
Sorry I can\'t recall the name of the place.
Also check with VRBO.com they might have a private listing for a decent price.
In Ouray we stay at the Weisbaden, private hot springs pool, and vapor cave.
Easy walking into town for meals.

Check things out over on the Nucla side of 61. Maybe they won\'t be as busy as Ouray and they are right in 61.

my buddy said the Ouray KOA is pretty nice. we\'re stopping there in late July on our summer vacation.

Thanks WW and Billy Goat. There are some cabins at the Ouray KOA but all booked on the days we\'re going. 3 yurts you can rent at Ridgway State park but full all summer long.

Next thought is renting a camper in Montrose/Ridgway/Ouray and getting a hook-up site at the State Park.
