Cataract Operation Scheduled

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and scheduled a cataract operation for April.

My vision started going bad about a year ago, and I\'ve tried multiple pairs of glasses since then. I can see now, but not well, and since the eyes are so different (my left one is useless at distance) my depth perception is lousy.

I\'m planning to have some laser resurfacing of the cornea at the same time to smooth out an astigmatism.

Anyone ever been through it? I\'m assuming it\'ll be a walk in the park.

My wifes grandmother had it. They did one eye and it went great. They did the second one and things turned cloudy for her . We took her back to the eye doc and he said she had an infection in the eye. He sent us to the University Hospital pronto. As soon as we got there they met us at the door. She had some antibiotics injected into the eye and all was good. They said another day and it could have damaged her vision. I am glad she had things go good on the first one so she knew what to expect. She might not have realized thing were not right if it happened to the first one.

I am sure it will be a piece of cake and you will wonder why you had not done it sooner. You should know what to watch for being a doc. Good luck. It should help your shooting. Maybe you wont shoot the antlers off next time. :lol:

No sweat John. It takes about 20 minutes per eye. I had it done and threw away my glasses. I\'m 20-20 now. The worse part is the prep with all those eye drops before the operation.

Best wishes Tick. The surgery will make a world of difference. What will amaze you, is one morning soon after the surgery, you will look out a whole new world of bright colors, depth, contrast and clarity. Expect great results.

I haven\'t had it done but know several folks that have and they are very, very glad they did.... From what I hear it\'s not bad and you should do just fine... :mrgreen: :ugeek: :mrgreen:
