I've made an unforgivable mistake ... I would rather drown than plan a wedding so I gave full planning duties to the soon-to-be-Mrs, and she went ahead and scheduled the big day for 9/15 :downthumb: .
That means my elk trip is gunna be the first week of September. Currently the plan is to go solo and I'm torn between GMU 68 and 231 (never hunted either unit). I've spent plenty of time in the flat tops, and the area seems more like the quintessential elk country I picture in my head, but I've heard a lot of good things about the western part of 68 (Saguache Park area). With all thats going on I don't think I'll be able to get boots on the ground before the season, so I'm hoping some of you could sway me to one unit or the other so I can focus my e-scouting efforts.
