CO Elk Application Strategy

What is your CO Elk application strategy?

As for me preference point first, send me an OTC ES Tag.

My Plan A / B area\'s usually have left over 1st season rifle cow tags available. I may pick one of those up depending on what I see during the summer scouting trips.

Then burn the points every couple of years on a RFW cow tag.

I need to work on a better strategy. Our group has bounced around a bit and have been using up preference points fairly quick. I would like to get into a spot where I can get an OTC or leftover tag every year and get a point with the first choice, although part of the reason I have never done this is I will never see any trophy unit in my lifetime if I start saving now. RFW hunts would be my only hope I think.

otc archery most years. 2016 I\'ll be in unit 76 and after that I\'ve got a great 1pt unit I\'ll hunt every other year from then on more than likely. I hunt Wyoming general most years with my bow as well as collecting points so I\'ve got quite a few elk hunts to look forward to.
