Hey folks,[/size]Former CO resident here (reluctantly living in CA). A friend was considerate enough to schedule their wedding in Colorado in late September, so I'm taking the opportunity to go a week early to chase our favorite 4 legged critters with a bow in hand.I've torn up unit 43 on google earth and I'm hoping to run my ideas by someone who's familiar with the unit. Not asking for your go-to spots, just looking for someone to let me know if my ideas are hot or cold.Happy to hop on a call or go back and forth on here.Hope all of your fall seasons are prosperousAlec

I have never been but I too have looked into this unit for an out of state OTC hunt. It's a 9% success rate and on the rise from previous years. I was looking into the area near RedStone, going up into Avalanche Creek. Their is a campground you can drive too and park a vehicle, the creek goes back in there for miles and opens up into vast canyons and basins that look dynamite. I just wonder how many other guys say the same thing.....

Looking at that area too. Worried you might need a horse to get deep enough to get away from the crowds

Great thought. I'd say bivy hunting would be your best bet with the limited time you have. You can camp in deep, be mobile, and looks to have plenty of water everywhere. Just my thought.
