I was able to be Johnny-on-the-spot this morning. CO OTC bear tags with caps went on sale this morning at 9am. I was able to get 1 of 15 archery bear tags for my elk unit that I drew into, so I\'m pretty happy.
My two boys will be hunting with me for the first time this year too, but they will be hunting turkey. I will have a turkey tag as well so it should be a good time with them and 3 tags in my pocket.
I\'m gonna try to get them hooked on elk hunting, by being in a unit where the Elk act like Elk, unlike most of the over-the-counter units where they don\'t talk as much as in a hard to draw elk unit. I\'ve got them started on their elk calling. I think they\'ll be very excited when they call some elk in by themselves - Hopefully that gets them hooked!
